BOTTOM LINE: No - I would not recommend this to a friend
Cute, but the ties only go one way

For some reason, the ties were attached at an angle so they can only tie over the bust, and I was hoping I could wear it around my waist or to the back as well. Beautiful quality, but slightly disappointed.
