Always in your bag?

A Moleskine calendar, paper and pencil for the girls to doodle on at restaurants, Hauschka lip balm + lip pencil, Earth tu Face skin stick, Pacific Tote Co. pouch with diapers and wipes, wallet, iPhone, work papers and a free floating obsession of the day of the girls.

Beauty routine?

Morning and night I wash and moisturize with Hauschka. On the occasion I wear makeup, I use a light concealer with a little Olio e Osso no. 2 on my cheeks and mascara. I wash my hair every 3 days and use a tiny amount of essential oil blend when it's wet and let it air dry. Other than that I try to fill my plate with the colors of the rainbow and drink as much water as I can.

A favorite dish you cook for your family?

Avocado rolls! It’s all about getting the kids involved. The girls love making their own rolls.

Tips for maintaining a work/life/mom balance?

There is always a challenge with the balance. At least 2 times a year I like jot down on paper what I want to achieve this year, in 3 years, 5 years, 10 years. Once you get to 10 years you realize a lot of the stuff one stresses out about in the moment is not helping the end goal. That can hold you back from just enjoying life. Because it can be hard to balance it all, I make sure to include my family in my work life. Calder helps out in the shop watering the plants and Agnes travels to the sewing contractors with me.  After running a work errand, we stop and get a treat like Paleta. There are no set schedules. We sneak in spontaneous adventures whenever we can!

When do you unplug?

On the weekends. We go to the beach and just enjoy the nature where we can be free of timelines.

5 Mother must-haves:

1) Trust in the universe.

2) Trust in yourself. Even when you feel like you are screwing up.

3) Time for yourself without any digital apparatus. I like to enjoy a simple walk around the block or a Korean spa trip.

4) A community that supports you.

5) Pencil and paper to entertain all!

A favorite dish you cook for your family?

I can make tasty veggies and pasta.

Tips for maintaining a work/life/mom balance?

Having a positive outlook and finding humor and joy in the chaos is the best advice for balance.  I also highly recommend an early morning snuggling in bed with your kid for 30 minutes to get your day started off right.

Favorite children's book?

Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty.

We go to a rental house on the weekends in Upstate New York where there is no cell service.  We usually cook, build fires outside and hike.

Asparagus with chorizo and croutons from smitten kitchen.

Tips for maintaining a work/life/mom balance?

I wish I knew! I don't have clear cut work versus non work hours, so mom time and work time blend together more than I would like. It's not always avoidable, but I'm trying to be better about just turning my phone off during play time so I'm less distracted.

Favorite children's book?

Lily and Bear

When do you unplug?

After she falls asleep I make myself a cup of tea and just sit for a few minutes doing nothing.

Mother must-haves:

1. Lots of help from family and friends

2. Lots of coffee

3. Lots of patience

Most valuable lessons learned from motherhood?

I think a lot about what her memories of her childhood will be when she's older. I don't want her to remember a mom who was always stressed and constantly staring at her phone. Not that I expect her never to see me stressed, or busy, or annoyed, but it's easy to get bogged down in the day to day frustrations, and thinking about her perspective on it all helps pull me out of that.

Beauty routine?

My face is so important to me! I am in love with  Aesop's Amazing Face Wash  and  SK-II masks. I exfoliate my skin three times a week because of how oily my skin can get. I use  Aesop's Tea Tree Leaf Facial exfoliate  mixed with the Amazing Face Wash. I also use  La Mer face creme  and  body creme  religiously.

A favorite dish you cook for your family?

This one is super easy, tastes good, and is healthy - it's a mix of chicken, rice, bell peppers, and onions with season mix.

Tips for maintaining a work/life/mom balance?

Family comes first, save your money, and make sure you make love a lot. Sounds silly but the less stress I have the better I can function and juggle everything.
